Since our founding in 1977, Falmouth Academy has welcomed international students from over 25 different countries to campus. A pioneer in promoting cultural empathy and thoughtful global stewardship, Falmouth Academy has admitted students from countries as diverse as Slovakia, Egypt, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Austria, Russia, Germany, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Kazakhstan, among many others.
Students live with host families, who provide a safe, comfortable family environment. Students quickly become part of the family, sharing traditions and participating in all aspects of family life. Our host families unanimously report that opening their home to an international student has enriched their lives and broadened their understanding and appreciation of the culture and traditions of their student’s home country.
International students participate fully in all areas of school life and are among our most accomplished musicians, artists, athletes, and scholars. Graduates attend colleges and universities, such as Mount Holyoke College, New York University, Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, Cambridge University, University of Southern California, and University of California, Los Angeles among others.
Please note: All international student applicants must demonstrate proficiency in speaking and reading English in order to be considered for admission. The school does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.
Entrance Exam Requirements: For applicants whose first language is not English, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required. Test scores should be sent to Falmouth Academy from TOEFL directly. While campus visits are strongly encouraged, interviews may be conducted via Skype or Zoom.
